Description of source "g31" from Chambers et al. (2011)

A compact, bright 4.5 μm emission source g31 is located at the distance of the Galactic center in an IRDC. It has a mass of 14.4 ± 4.6M_0 and is coincident with 24 μm emission. We detect a 6.7 GHz maser detected in the field, but it is ~70 arcsec away from g31, and thus not associated with the green source. The maser site is ~15 arcsec from a small region of bright 24 μm emission, but is not near any bright IRAC emission. This 44 GHz maser displays a single velocity feature at −4 km s−1.
